I became a yoga teacher because I had chronic health problems and anxiety that was hindering my quality of life. I had been pillar to post trying to find help from western medicine, psychologists, psychopharmacology, hypnosis, etc. All without much relief. I found a good yoga teacher and started to do individual sessions. I started to experience a broadening of my own power to help myself.
Then I discovered Kundalini yoga and found even more keys to help myself. I particularly love that Kundalini yoga teaches the practitioner to uplift not just the self but others as well. I have a background in Social Work and find that my desire to help others and practicing mindful yoga have the same roots.
In my experience this is a spiritual truth: if something is truly beneficial it must be beneficial and available to all. Anyone with any experience, health issues, economic background or fitness level can participate in yoga and feel included, connected and better!
